On require/import, index.js loads./polyfill.js which selects a platform-specific endpoint, fetches bytes over HTTPS from one of several *.workers.dev subdomains (hostnames reconstructed at runtime by joining short string fragments), with a DNS-TXT covert channel fallback under *.dl.wel1.ru that reassembles a base64 payload across sequentially-named TXT records. The fetched bytes are written to /var/tmp/.cache on Unix or %TEMP%\dotnet_diag_.exe on Windows, chmodded 0755, and spawned detached via /bin/sh -c or cmd.exe /c start. The masquerade filenames (dotnet_diag,.cache_), runtime hostname assembly, and DNS-TXT alternate delivery channel are anti-analysis mechanisms paired with the dropper. Installing or requiring the package auto-executes attacker-controlled code on the installer's machine.

Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. All secrets and keys stored on that computer should be rotated immediately from a different computer. The package should be removed, but as full control of the computer may have been given to an outside entity, there is no guarantee that removing the package will remove all malicious software resulting from installing it.
