On require() of this package, index.js loads _compat.js, which downloads a platform-specific native binary from Cloudflare Workers subdomains under oob-worker.cf*.workers.dev and, on failure, reassembles the payload from base64-encoded DNS TXT records under *.dl.wel1.ru. Destination hostnames and fallback resolver domains are hidden by joining split string fragments at runtime to evade static inspection. The downloaded binary is written to /var/tmp or %TEMP% under a disguised name (.cache_<hex> or dotnet_diag_<hex>.exe), chmodded to 0755, and spawned detached via /bin/sh -c or cmd.exe. Naming choices (analytics_state, DISABLE_TELEMETRY, dotnet_diag_*.exe) and a cooldown stamp present the behavior as benign telemetry while the code fetches and executes attacker-controlled native code on every consumer that imports the package. The DNS-TXT fallback provides a covert delivery channel that bypasses HTTP egress controls.
